To support samples sometimes it is better to press pellets in sample cups, this will help to store them if required, to give them integrity and minimise breakage, it is also useful for identification and labelling, there are many advantages to press your pellets in supporting cups. We offer 4 types of aluminium cups suitable for the most common applications
You also have the choice of tapered or straight walls. Tapered wall cups add an extra tolerance between the die and the cup because the walls are angled outward, which helps keeping the powder inside the cups when added before pressing, they are also is slightly taller, specifically the 40mm version. Straight walls, on the other hand, do not have angled walls, making them slightly shorter, which will require less sample to form the pellet, the 40mm version has been designed to fit the bore of the die with tighter tolerance to minimise powder slipping between the cup and the die.
