Specac introduces temporary import/export embargo

Specac has today decided to protect its supply chain over the period when the Brexit transition comes to an end by placing an embargo on imports and exports over the three-week period from Monday 28th December 2020 to Friday 15th January 2021.

Whether there is a deal or no-deal, the company is concerned that there may be substantial short-term disruption at customs points, and wishes to avoid this confusion for the sake of customers and suppliers.

David Smith, Specac’s Managing Director says, “Our staff are fully trained and prepared for the customs environment post-Brexit and we have complete confidence in our shipping partners. However, there remains the very real threat of severe disruption because of factors outside our control. We would particularly encourage our customers to order early to avoid disappointment.

“Specac won’t be shut down during the embargo, we will remain open for business and ready to serve. We hope that this decision doesn’t cause any meaningful disruption to our partners, and that we have sufficient time before the embargo to work together to find alternative shipping dates.”
