Things to do in San Diego during ACS

Like so many scientific brands from around the world, Specac is at the National ACS Meeting in San Diego this year, March 13-17.


In between visiting trade stands, check out some fun things to do while you're in San Diego.

Whale Watching Season is here

So gray whales have arrived at Newport Landing.


This is the chance to catch one of Nature's most incredible creatures up close and personal. So far there have been over 900 gray whale sightings at Newport Landing this year.

  • The longest migration of a mammal was the gray whale, over 22,000 km.
  • There have also been over 30,000 dolphin sightings at Newpoert Landing for 2016.
  • Gray whales can reach 14.9 metres in length.

Get on a whale watching cruise after ACS is finished to catch sight of one of these beauties.

British culture: a lecture on Mrs Churchill

Clementine Churchill was the rock and confidant of Britain's wartime prime minister Winston.


Watch a lecture by political reporter Sonia Purnell on the great lady at the Timkem Museum of Art on March 16.
